The Coral Sands Hotel is located in Hikkaduwa which is famous for its beautiful beaches, a variety of water sports and annual beach festivals. About a four hour drive away from the airport, the hotel is a fine place to enjoy a beach holiday with charming and comfortable guestrooms, delectable seafood and various cuisines as well as Ayurvedic massages to help you revitalize yourself. For the adventurous traveller, the hotel offers diving lessons where you experience the marine life in all its glory.


Famed for its beautiful beaches and a countless range of water sports, Hikkaduwa boasts of some of the best holiday spots in Sri Lanka. The Coral Sands Hotel is also found by the beaches of Hikkaduwa along the South Western Coastal belt of Sri Lanka. The town is located approximately 99km away from Colombo while you can reach Hikkaduwa through the Colombo – Galle main road, the Southern railway line or the Southern Expressway.


Coral Sands Hotel has 82 guestrooms with 56 Deluxe rooms, 21 Standard rooms, 3 Super Deluxe rooms and 1 Suite. All guestrooms have a sea view while all Standard rooms consist of air-conditioning and hot water showers. The Deluxe rooms include a 21" LCD television, a mini bar, a safety deposit box, telephone, complimentary tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries. The Super Deluxe rooms consist of all of the above facilities with the addition of a Jacuzzi and a view from the third floor balcony which is breathtaking.


The Station which is the hotel's bar offers guests a selection of wines, cocktails and liquors every night while you can enjoy the sunset sipping your favourite drink. The hotel's restaurant offers special theme nights including Sri Lankan, Asian and Mediterranean specialties and a variety of cuisines. For a special fine dining experience, the private deck is an excellent venue where you can enjoy specialized seafood menus. The Coral Sands Hotel also has an Ayurvedic centre with a variety of treatments while all guests are entitled to a free foot massage. The hotel also consists of a swimming pool while there are four private sunbathing decks where guests can relax all day long. Other facilities include free Wi-Fi in public areas, doctor on call, foreign currency exchange facilities, cots for children, safety lockers, laundry services, 24 hour room service, IDD, fax, email and Internet services.


There is a Marine Park next to the hotel where you can snorkel among the coral reefs, while the hotel has a diving school located within the premises offering both PADI and UDI certifications. About 17km away is the historical Galle Fort which is a world renowned heritage site. The Fort still stands strong while you can explore the paths and walk atop the ramparts. River safaris can be enjoyed about 20km away from the hotel.

Our Facilities

Coral Sands Hotel has two swimming pools and a kiddie's pool where guests have the opportunity to enjoy a swim and laze around all day long. The hotel also includes a diving school offering guests a chance to carry out expeditions to excellent diving sites within close proximity of the hotel as well as obtain PADI and UDI diving licence from internationally trained diving instructors.
Our restaurant, which overlooks the ocean, offers a variety of cuisines, with special theme nights including Asian, Mediterranean, Sri Lankan specialties and much more. Lobster and other Seafood dinners can be ordered on our private deck, with a special fine dining experience.


A selection of wines, liquors and cocktails are served up at our bar, 'the station' every night, and it is the ideal place to relax, watch the sunset and the lights of the fishing boats in the horizon till late at night.
